The region of Murcia, and the Costa Calida (The Warm Coast) is less well known than its northern neighbour the Costa Blanca, but none the less attractive (more so many say!) on this fantastic unspoilt coastline lies the most unique area in the whole of Spain, The Mar Menor (Small Sea).
This is a marine lagoon, some 15 miles long by 6 miles across, but is only 7 meters deep at its deepest, (waist deep up to 200m out in most places) which with the 40 kilometres of superb beaches, makes this a perfect, safe destination for families with small children.

What separates the Mar Menor from the Mediterranean Sea is the famous resort of “La Manga” a 19 km narrow strip of land, with superb, clean beaches on both sides, along its entire length, is referred to as “The Paradise between two seas”.
The region has some of the best-preserved and unspoilt historical sites, and scenery in Spain. As this area is a popular “Spanish” holiday destination, you will find a vast choice of quality, authentic and inexpensive restaurants and bars, as well as a warm welcome from the local people. The area is also a popular destination for all water sports enthusiast with the Mar Menor being an excellent Sailing, Windsurfing and Kite-surfing venue. The areas varied Dive and Snorkelling sites are reputed to be some of the best in Spain, the world famous La Manga Golf Club with its 3 pristine courses and excellent facilities, offer the golfer the chance to play alongside some of the worlds most famous sports stars.
